Love in the Metro

As usual I was late so was rushing to catch my metro without noticing people around me. I just took the first step on the stairs and someone almost shouted from behind ‘I Love U’. This was the metro station where I meet him almost every day but I didn’t expect something like this would ever happen.

I turned around and saw an average heighted college going boy with a bag on his shoulder looking towards a girl in light pink suit and a handbag in her hands shying away from him. She smiled at him coyly and started moving towards the staircase. For a moment I could see the innocent love blossoming.

How often do we see such selfless or rather crazy blamelessly naive couples with public display of affection, well known as PDA?

Well, I do get my share of it while travelling in metro where girls sacrifice the First coach (Only Ladies Coach) in metro to be with their partners. Or sometimes guys entering the first coach for them, stupid though. Holding hands, not for the sake of it but to keep together in the maddening rush of metro. When after a hectic day, resting her head on his shoulder. When he puts his hands around her to protect her from the crowd. When he gives the first seat available to her. A careful touch to make sure he is there. A peaceful look when she is talking endlessly. A pat on the back when she is waiting for him for so long. Sometimes a tight hug when you are going apart and he waits on the platform till her train leaves the station. Telling her in symbols to call him when she reaches.

People might think that PDA is not something right. Why to display your feelings in front of strangers. Well, if affection exists, public or no public it certainly shows up. And when you are blissfully in love, it comes naturally in your conduct. You cannot stop yourself from expressing it even if people around glance at you. It makes you feel loved. It makes you smile. It spreads love.

That’s why we say, “Love is in the air”.

Kissing two men

Noise outside my window woke me up. I rubbed my eyes and picked up my angry bird table clock. I had time.

Peeped out of my window, I saw him giving instructions to a man. The man from the other side of the lawn was carrying some stuff on his back.

He looked up to my window, smiled at me but I could see the sadness in his eyes.

I turned around, merged into my bean bag, closed my eyes to remember when was the last time I saw him crying. I fractured my right arm after an accident, I couldn’t eat food and was so much in pain. He cried. I remember the days when he hugged me tight and I slept in his lap. I knew he loved me more than anything in the world but I knew I had to leave him soon. We fought over small things, from clothes to choices of friends. He knew I would be leaving soon.

One day I went up to him and told him its time. I told him I have met someone and I loved him too.

He closed his eyes and kept my hand over his fingers, he held them tight.

I opened my eyes and started deciding what to wear today. I was going to meet my love. Chose a white floral dress after much anticipation.

Went down, he was still in the lawn sitting in his twig chair, managing accounts on paper. He was holding his cup of tea when I announced that I will be coming back late. He knew I was going to meet him.

I looked back, went up to him, touched his shoulders and kissed him on his cheek. He smiled. And I left.

I reached on time and there he was waiting for me. He invited me to a beautiful patio themed restaurant. Felt like I was in a fairy tale and he was my prince charming. It was all dream like. He held my hand softly, I looked at him and kissed him. We were going to enter in one life soon.

It was my wedding day, I was looking in the mirror and he entered my room. With his endeavor joyful smile, he hugged me. I told him he would walk till the stage with me and give me away to other man in my life.

I saw a tear rolled down his eyes and I couldn’t stop mine.
